Browns GM Search Over

One day after news broke that the Cleveland Browns had found their new General Manager, George Kokinis was formerly introduced in a press conference today. George was most recently the Director of Pro Personnel for the Baltimore Ravens, and was at one time an intern in the Browns club operations department - his first NFL job.

Kokinis and new Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini actually shared an apartment when they both worked for the Browns back in 1991.

Where Romeo Crennel and Phil Savage often couldn't stay in the same book, let alone on the same page, Kokinis and Mangini are friends and should do a great job of working together to make the Browns a better team.

The only part that still bothers me out of the whole thing? The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported in their Live Blog (during the Kokinis Press Conference) today that owner Randy Lerner was "in the back of the room -- behind the TV cameras." (third paragraph in the Live Blog).

If Lerner wants us to believe that he is as serious about bringing this city and this fan base a championship caliber team, he is going to have to get in FRONT of the camera and in FRONT of the fans - the people who pay his player's and coach's wages. In either event, I'm glad the Browns finally have their Front Office together so we can move onto other things..........like trading Derek Anderson before his $5 million roster bonus comes due in March.
